Nobody is going to argue that the temperature is changing, wether we can effect or change it is more the arguement of global warming. The global climate changes and your little car is not the reason, it may be a SMALL factor but the fact of us causing global warming is a little far fetched. When there is a problem people will gravitate to the answer that could have a solution. Hench "ZOMG GLOBAL WARMING CRISIS!!!111!1" when in reality we don't really have a say in what the temperature will be.

Too much in the lower atmosphere to let it fall atm. So essentially planting more tress would help but it will take time. People like right now solutions, not ones that take time.

Do I not believe in global warming? I do believe that it is occurring but I believe that it is part of the Earth's natural cycle, we just have added to it and if we give it time the Earth will restore itself.

Yes I believe in creationism. Yes I believe in evolution. OHSH-- that is impossible! It actually depends on what you define evolution as. My classes (I'm a bio major) that have discussed evolution have all defined it as a change/mutation over time that benefits the organisms reproducibility. It's not humans evolving from apes or shit like that, it is simply mutations that benefit the organism or hurt the organism. Mutations are a simple example of these, such as trisomy-21, or down syndrome. There is a mutation that gives the child 3 21 chromosomes instead of 2. That is a simple mutation to use. As for evolution, just look at humans. Back in the early 1900's the average height of men was around 5'8. Now it is around 6' 6'1. This is an example of evolution, a change over time.

don't you still fell the weather is extremely hot compare to, say 5 years back?
|
No it is not, natural climate change, believe it or not, is possible and one year can be hotter than another. This was actually a very cold winter for where I live in Green Bay and even here in may we have been getting below 50 temperatures at time. Yes you can argue that not everything is going to get hot and some places may in fact get cold but the thing is there have been years in the past that have been even colder and even hotter as well. In Green Bay we also had a lot of snow this year but there have been years in the past before this global warming scare that there has been more snowfall. Just because it may be hotter this year than it was 5 years ago does not mean it is a result of people driving SUV's and whatever else cause globull warming.

I feel fine. We have immune systems, you aren't going to die.

It isn't necessarily good but you find a better place to put our waste that will actually work and get back to me.

What are you talking about? No trees? What?

don't you still think not having a chance to ever see another whales is bad?

I have never seen a whale, how do whales benefit me enough to care if they are around or not? I have seen pictures and videos and that is pretty sweet. Watch animal planet.
Quote:
no matter what causes the temperature to rise, or drop, or birds and bees and trees and island to disappear, don't you want them to be there in the future?
|
Birds and bees and trees aren't all going to disappear, you fall too much into the category that the world is ending tomorrow and we are all going to melt to death.
Yes islands are disappearing but they have been for hundreds of years. I wonder what animals of the world at the time of the ice age thought when those ice caps melting. I am sure their farts caused global warming to melt those ice caps fast, no such thing as global warming.
And for you people worrying about temperature increases in the 90's I want you to answer a few questions for me?
Is Siberia cold?
If you shut down several weather stations in Siberia (which they did) in the 90's don't you think that will have an impact on Earth's average temperature?

Green Bay always has shitty weather, except for one or two perfect weeks in Spring.
Relax everybody. We'll be long dead before it is a real problem (if it ever is).

Just a short lesson in Earth History for all you people who say Global Warming does not exist. It has been proven that teh Earth periodically Warms and cools down. These Periods are known as warm ages (Jurasic would be the most famous) and ice ages. There have been periods in Earths history that have been much warmer than we are experiencing.
Before you all get onto the braniac bandwagon and say that the Global warming we are experiencing is therefore completely normal and no need to worry... These hot and cold periods usually change over tens of thousands of years, not within the span of 100-150 years as we are experiencing right now.
Im sure that the Earth and lifeforms will survive this transitional period. Evolution has its own ways of letting the most adaptive life forms prosper in any situation. As and to how Humanity will survive... who knows. Whatever it is will be well past our life times, but you might want to start to think what sort of balast you want your great-great-great-grandchildren to live with just because you are too lazy to walk half a mile to get to the fitness studio .

I understand that it is indeed a theory, but I feel it's a theory in its infancy like evolution was a theory.
While evolution has not been proven, there is serious scientific evidence to support such a hypothesis.
I feel it's one of those things we'll look back on 100 years from now and say,"Hmm...sucks we didn't think this was true."

you guys miss the point by answering my rethorical question one by one, i am saying deep down everyone wants whats best for their environment, neighbourhood, the country they stay in. even if theres no environmental activist we (at least I) don't go around destroying our environment.
some people are passionate, some paranoid, some wants to look cool, with how they handle informations. so why are we bashing them (whoever you are bashing here) for being cautious and raising awareness about taking care of OUR environment? its OURS, if they want to do the job of making sure the environment is clean, healthy etc why stop them? it doesn't make sense.

Why stop them? Because they are the ones in our government. They are the ones who are zealots. Willing to rush everything forward without any consideration to the costs because WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE IN A FLOOD!
They are the ones trying to get "Carbon Footprint" crap through and other such stupidity.

Chemistry tells us that polar ozone depletion is because of natural causes. From this, many logical conclusions about the environmental crisis can be drawn.

Well, with over 6 billion people living on this planet, we kind of like need a huge catastrophe to reduce our numbers before we end up running out of space and food =\
Seriously, people need to to stop making any more than 2 babies, otherwise, mother nature will just swallow you all up one day in a giant flood!
Thats the nutshell. Too little space, too many people. Need less people, so floods and earthquakes are good for Earth.
Earth > Me or you.

I can tell from a few of your other posts you are a liberal person so i'll try and be very simple with you.
Why do you believe your fellow human beings should die? Earth is fine and we aren't going to ruin it, there is no way. The world has a way of fixing problems on it's own and if we even believe we can "destroy" it then we are blind.
How in the hell can you actually say that people dying is a good thing? That is awful.
You are terrible.

I didnt say that people dying is a good thing.
I said that natural disasters that cause people to die is a natural thing.
People dying is always a bad thing, but if sea levels are going to rise, floods are going to happen, or even earthquakes, then there is nothing we can do about preventing that, unless you want people to cut back on carbon emissions and contributing to global warming, whether global warming is real or not, there is nothing else we can do to prevent sea levels from rising.
My other comment was that our population cannot carry on growing at its current rate, or else we will in the future not be able to feed or house ourselves.
Being on top of the food chain and expanding at our rate is terrible for every ecosystem on this planet.

OOO now I get what you are saying. If people die now before GLOBAL WARMING comes then they won't die then.
You want a bunch of people to die now so people don't die in the future
Makes perfect sense.

There is more than enough room on this planet for another six billion people. Every person currently alive could fit relatively comfortably in the state of Texas. The population density would be something like forty thousand people per square mile (for comparison, the population density of Manhattan is around 70.5k people per square mile). We could easily quadruple the global population and we wouldn't even begin to run out of space.
Overpopulation is a myth. Once again, simple mathematics show that the teachings of the liberal media and the Chinese are completely bunk.

But wait, there's more!
When faced with the fact that space required for human expansion is not an actual issue, many would bring up the amount of resources available, claiming that we don't have enough to support the current population, much less a larger one. This is only true if humanity refuses to allocate living space better. Again, we can see using fairly basic math that the entire population of the world can fit in Texas; such relocation of the populous would free up the entire rest of the planet for the generation and harvesting of more renewable resources. Naturally, it's not really feasible to move everyone to Texas and grow crops everywhere else, but you can grasp the general idea: alter the spread of the population in a favorable manner, and you will obtain many more potential resources. The only limiting factor then becomes nonrenewable resources, but not only are we not as close to exhausting them as we are told, they can also be replaced with renewable resources when the time comes that we do run out of them.
TL;DR: overpopulation is a myth, used as a scapegoat for humanity's laziness.
